Social Media Feeds on Client Websites

Some websites we build include a social media feed that displays a business's own social media posts on their website. When a website administrator connects a social media account (a Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, LinkedIn organisation or X account) to their website, the following information is collected and stored on that customer's own website:

• Authorisation tokens issued by the social platform, stored in encrypted form and used only to keep the feed connected and to import new posts.
  
• Account details for the connected account: its name, handle and profile image.
  
• Post content published by that account: publicly-visible post images, text, links to the original posts, posting dates and engagement counts such as likes and comments.
  

This information is used solely to display the connected account's own posts on that customer's website. We do not sell it or share it with any third party. The sign-in process is routed via Oncord, the website platform we build on, which forwards the authorisation back to the customer's website and does not retain it; authorisation tokens are stored only on the customer's own website.

How to request deletion of your data

If a social media account you manage has been connected to a website built by Fuel Design, you can have all stored data for that connection deleted:

1. Do it yourself (immediate). An administrator of the website can sign in to the website's admin panel, open Fuel Apps → Social Media → Accounts, and use the Disconnect option next to the account. This immediately and permanently deletes the stored authorisation tokens, the account details and all imported posts.
2. Request it by email. Email dev@fueldesign.co.nz with the website address and the connected account name. We will delete all associated data within 14 days and confirm by reply.
3. Revoke on the platform. You can also remove the connection in your social platform's own settings (for example Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites). This prevents any further importing; combine it with option 1 or 2 to delete data already imported.

After deletion, no authorisation tokens, account details or imported posts are retained.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We use secure technologies and strict internal procedures to ensure your information is safe.
