Step 2: Your Products
What type of products do you sell?*
Approximatlely how many different products (SKUs) do you wish to sell?*
Do some of your products have variations such as sizes, or colours, etc.?*
Please list your typical variations for products.*
Do your product variations all have the same price?*
Do you wish to provide access to additional resources on your product pages? If so please list the additional resources*Additional resources may be things like Care Instructions, Operation Manuals, Dimensional Diagrams, Recipes, Product Reviews, Product Ratings, etc.
Do you wish to create product packages which are made up of multiple SKUs?*
Do you wish to present Related Products?*
Do you wish the website to manage your product inventory?*
When a product is out of stock, do you wish to indicate the current product status, or hide the product until it is back in stock?*
Do you wish to Implement Simple Product Filtering?*This provides filters based on attributes that are common to all products. These may be things such as brand. price band, colour, etc.
Do you need website product information and inventory information to be synchronised with a third party inventory or ERP System?*Multi-system integration can often result in more accurate product information and require significantly less manual intervention.
Do you have product data that can be exported in CSV file format from an existing website, or other software systems? If so please specify what data is included in such a CSV file export.Most web platforms allow for the export of product data and in some cases product images.
If you have one, please provide details of your existing website or eCommerce platform and software systems.Examples of web platforms are Wordpress, Woo Commerce, Shopify, SquareSpace, Weebly, Magento, etc.
Do you wish to display multiple product related images on your product pages?*
Step 3: Your Customers
Please select which customer types you sell to.*
Do you see value in enabling customers to be able to create their own list of 'Favourite Products', for which they can login and refer back to?This is often used by specifiers who have preferences for particular products, or by end customers who wish to create a 'wish list' for future reference.
Do you have any customers who aren't located in New Zealand and don't pay in $NZ?
Do you have existing customer or contact information available in CSV file format?It is much faster to import contact information via a file import than manually. This information may already exist in your current website, mailing tool such as MailChimp, CRM, or accounting / ERP system.
Do you wish to provide access to particular website products or resources to a restricted group (via secure login) such as your resellers, specifiers, etc.Resources could be content such as Special Price Lists, Parts Manuals, Point of Sale material, etc.
Do you have an interest in implementing additional eCommerce websites to address selected geographies?This might be for example the Australian market, on a .com.au domain. Search engine ranking will always be higher for websites that are dedicated to targeting particular geographies using a local domain.
Do you wish to create 'Groups' in which customers or contacts will be placed according to their profile?Groups help you to be able to target market to certain customers and contacts. You may set up a group for Trade customers whose pricing when they login will be lower than retail customers. You may even set up multiple groups of Trade Customers depending on their profile, where each group can have different pricing. Groups could be based on industry, geography, or any other criteria you decide. A customer or contact can be a member of multiple groups depending on their profile.
Do you require selected customer group(s) to be assigned a particular set of shipping rules?As examples, you may have a certain customer group where you wish to provide them with Free shipping or another group where shipping is always via freight rather than by courier, etc.
Step 4: Your Prices
Please select which approach to pricing is required. *Please choose from the list, or add your own.
Do you wish to show approximate currency conversion for the benefit of overseas customers?An eCommerce website will only sell in one currency. If you are based in New Zealand that generally means sales in NZ$ and will be a conversion for overseas buyers (and excl GST id products are shipped overseas)
Do you wish to sell in multiple currencies?If yes then you will require a multi-currency merchant account with BNZ who is the only bank in NZ to facilitate multi-currency, or PayPal / Stripe etc.
Do you wish all pricing for non-logged in site visitors to be displayed including GST?Generally logged in retail customers will see GST inclusive prices.
Do you wish the website to issue a GST invoice, or a Web Order Confirmation to a customer, upon completion of order payment?In many cases GST invoices are generated by your accounting software and shipped with the goods.
Do you require product pricing within the website to be synced with another system such as your accounting software or ERP system?
Do you wish to display price changes or On Sale prices to selected products or services on their product page?Often the normal price will be displayed as
Do you wish to implement price calculation based on a selected quantity?Often products such as flooring, etc. are presented on a price per sqm or linier meter. To make it easier for customers the product page can calculate their required quantity and purchase price, this based on the overall dimensions of their project which they enter. Sometimes certain products have a wastage factor which is calculated into the final quantity and price.
Do you need a Request a Quote function on your website.*If yes please descibe what you have in mind.
Step 5: Payment Options
Please select which payment options are required. *Please choose from the list, or add your own.
Are you interested in the 'AfterPay' pay later service?Customers can buy now and pay for their purchase in 4 equal installments every 2 weeks. You get paid shortly after the transaction is completed.
Upon completion of an order, do you wish the order details to be synchronised with your accounting or ERP system?Order synchronisation eliminates the need to re-key each order into your accounting software, thus improving order processing efficiency and accuracy.
Step 6: Freight and Courier Requirements
Do you ship within New Zealand Only?
How do you charge customers for overseas shipping?*Please describe your approach.
Do you have a SHIPPING MATRIX spreadsheet which contains all shipping destinations or zones, weight & size bands, with prices, etc? A copy of this is required by Fuel before a firm cost can be quoted to implement shipping requirements which are outside of the standard web platform deliverables.If yes, then please forward a copy of this to sales@fueldesign.co.nz.
Do you require System Integration between your website and your 3PL partner's systems?Integration facilitates website orders to be passed automatically to your 3PL partner for fullfillement.
Do you use 'drop shipping'?If yes, then please describe how you calculate shipping for drop shipped orders.
How do you manage the return shipping of products?In the case of a wrong or defective product being shipped most online businesses will cover the cost of returning the product. In most cases, a Return Authorisation form (found on the website) needs to be completed and approved before the customer should return the goods.
Step 7: Marketing & Promotions
Do you plan to run website promotions?*Please descibe what you have in mind.
Do you wish to implement a loyalty scheme of some sort? Please describe the scheme, e.g. buy 10 of the same product, and then be able to redeem for one free product, etc.*
Do you have an interest in creating email-based marketing campaigns using 'customer journeys' targeted at specific customer groups?
Are you currently active on Social Media with regards to the business?In addition to promoting your brand and products, social media is a great way to drive traffic to your website thus improving your search engine ranking.
Do you want a Newsletter Signup Form?This enables you to collect contact information for newletter blasts and also to target new promotions.
Step 8: Website Pages and Content
Do you currently have both image and copy content (also maybe videos) for all of your products?Product images should be in the order of 1500 pixels wide. For product images all images need to be of a consistant aspect ratio.
Do you plan to load your product information and website content manually yourself?Training is provided to empower you to have complete control over all website content.
Are you interested in having your product content loaded, either manually, or via CSV file upload, by Fuel's team?If your team is small or very busy, this service by Fuel can speed up the timeframe required to launch your new website.
Do you need introduction to professional photographers or videographers for the creation of high quality website image content?Fuel can recommend professionals that our clients have sucessfully used in the past. It is however your responsibility to work directly with these people.
Do you wish to use 'Banners' or a 'Slider' on the home page?Banners are often used to promote new products or services, promote certain productr groups, to feature promotions, to communicate information such as delivery expectations over the Christmas period, etc.
Are there any Custom Forms required in order to gather targeted information?Examples could include Reseller Application form, Return Authorisation form, etc.
Do you intend to have a News or Blog section on the new website?News or Blogs if updated regularly with new content are a very good way of improving your Search Engine ranking SEO.
Do you plan to include FAQs (frequently asked questions)?Like News and Blog, FAQ's while usefull to customers can be a very powerful way of getting more 'keywords' onto your website and thus helping with SEO.
Do you plan to have a Business Profile section on your website?This is often used to briefly position the business and of the advantages of dealing with you.
Do you wish to include a Gallery on your new website?Galleries can be used to effectively present your product in 'situ' in its final location. In the same way a Gallery can be used to show the visual results of the delivery of one of your services. Advanced versions of Galleries can be used to promote visually a range of your products used together (an example may be a bathroom which has a number of bathroom products used together as a set.) Often times these are presented as 'Inspiration Galleries' and can link individual products to their product page.
Do you wish to include Testimonials?Testimonials can either be sprinked throughout your new website in order to support the claims you are making, or they can be presented on a sinle page and even grouped by topic.
Do you wish to include Case Studies?Case studies can be very powerful in showing potential customers how you have solved complex problems for previous customers.
Do you wish to include a Stockists or Reseller page?Help your resellers by driving traffic to their stores (be it bricks and morter or online). This can be as simple as just a page listing all resellers and more advanced with filtering to enable the best resller to be located based on things such as geography, product type or brand stocked, etc.
Do you wish to have a Team Page on your website?Having key members of your team listed on your website can make your business appear more friendly. Often Account managers or technical specialists with whom customers often communicate with are ket candidates. It's nice to be able to see a picture of who you are talking to or emailing with. Where appropriate direct dial numbers or email addresses can be associated with these team members.
Do you wish to advertise Job Vacancies or opportunities on your website?By promoting such vacancies on your website you are showing the world that you are a growning organisation which promotes trust in your brand.
Do you need to present website pages in different languages?If so what languages do have in mind. Please note that while some web platforms include direct language translation, others either require translation via Google translate or for the dedicated page content to be loaded by you.
Step 9: Integrations and Special Functionality
Do you currently have existing Business Software Systems?Such systems could include Accounting, Inventory, CRM, full ERP, etc.
Do you require any of your existing software systems to be integrated with your new website?Please descibe at a business level what you would like to achieve with such an integration. As an example: When the website recieves a new order, relevant order information is passed to accounting software so that an invoice can be created.
Do you require any other functionality (Custom Apps) in your website that is not normally found on standard web platforms?Please describe what you have in mind and provide examples of something similar you have seen on other websites. Examples of this might include custom dashboards for either web Administrators or for customers. This might be for example be where your website is a Market Place, etc.
Step 10: Search Engine Optimisation
Do you feel you have a good understanding of the importance of SEO?In order for a new website to rise in terms of search engine ranking, there is a range activities that can be completed by competant SEO specialists.
Do you have an Existing SEO Partner?If so who are they?
While training is provided to you covering the various SEO options within the website platform, is it likely that you will still need someone else to complete broader SEO related work such as Keyword, Key Phrase Research, Tagging, Web Copy review, Social Media work, etc. Such work can dramatically improve your websites Search Engine Ranking.Some of this work includes setting up 301 redirects, titles, key words and phrases, etc.
Would you like Fuel to make an introduction to our trusted SEO specialist partner?There are many 'purported' SEO specialists in the market, the only business that Fuel trust to 'properly' undertake this work is Clickthrough (we never clip the ticket, they would charge you directly).
Do you have an existing Google Analytics Account?If so we can implement this on your new website. If not please request assistance with this.
Step 11: Website Design
Are you looking to 'lead your market segment', and wish to invest in a Custom Design for your new eCommerce website?
Design-wise for your new eCommerce website, do you wish to implement a proven eCommerce website design that allows for some personalisation investment?
Is the design of your new eCommerce website not so important to you, and you are happy to accept a proven standard design initially?In the future, the standard design can be changed or updated as your budget allows. (please note this is not a 3rd party template that you cannot change in the future)
Do you already have website content such as high-quality images, videos, and copy (text), suitable for use on your new eCommerce website's non-product pages? If so please select below.Some eCommerce platforms only provide pure eCommerce functionality. Normally the eCommerce platforms recommended by Fuel also provide as standard a range of standard page designs for you to present your business advantages. Such pages can include News or Blogs, FAQs, Testimonials, Care Instructions, Gallerys of products in 'situ', etc. Making use of these pages and adding content, can be a big help in improving your SEO.
